5 Things I will only buy from the dollar store!
Saving Money is such a controversial topic with all of the coupon and subscription plans that are out there today. I will never argue that you might find something for less at another store.
If you haven’t already been to the dollar store I guarantee you, you will be visiting there at least 6 times a year after you read this post.
The Dollar Store was not a regular visit for me until just recently when it was right next door to Gymboree Play & Music. My son David loves to walk around at 19 months old and if we need to exhaust some energy before class at Gymboree we head into the Dollar Store.
Amazingly as we walked the aisles I shook my head at all the things I have been spending significant money on at least 6 times a year. This is now our favorite store to walk around in because I can leave there without spending more than $5 dollars in a trip. This is unheard of when you have children!
How many birthday parties do you attend a year? If you or your child are a social butterfly its safe to say at least 6 a year. You also have holidays and family birthdays. In a year the average number of gift bags that are purchased per family exceeds 30. The average cost of Gift Bags at a retailer is between 2-5 dollars.
At the Dollar Store, Gift Bags are $1 dollar and they are great quality!
There are endless options from Birthday Parties to Bridal Showers. Every holiday they add in holiday bags as well. I will write more about holidays in a little bit.
Tissue Paper for Gift Wrapping
Similar to Gift bags, you can find endless colors and designs of tissue paper for $1 dollar!
Regardless if you are having a household birthday party or at a local venue we always need decorations. You can find $1 dollar party decorations including plates, napkins, balloons (even helium), hanging signs … and much more.
Party Supplies or $1 at the Dollar Store is a steal!
As a Mother who has a challenge with organization I have found my dream spot. Since we found Dollar Store deals we now have bins and cubbies for toys in every room including the bathroom. Stop tripping over your children’s toys in the middle of the night and make a small investment in your life. If you still aren’t convinced it can save your life there are some flashlights that can help guide your way!
Every year a holiday approaches and I find myself looking for new items I can add around the house so we can feel a little more festive. This isn’t something we did prior to our son however we are starting the traditions early! You can pick up anything from wall hanging décor to stakes to put in your front yard. It is put out a few months early similarly to the other retailers so get there early.
Do you already shop at the dollar store? If so, please share your best secrets! I’d love to know more!!
Much love to you and your saving journey. This is one of the ways we are making our dollar stretch in our family so we can enjoy more time together!
