What is a Sitz Bath
A Sitz Bath is the soaking of your perineum (precious lady parts) that can provide relief from pain and itching.
Why do I need a Sitz Bath
Healing the precious lady parts can aidee greatly in the comfort to care for your newborn! The stitches itch, your precious lady parts will be tender, and you probably now have hemorrhoids. This is by far the best way to find comfort and decrease the time you need to heal.
How do you prepare a Sitz Bath
It is SUPER SIMPLE to prepare. You can either take a bath in 3 inches of water or purchase a sitz bath for your toilet. There are multiple options for sitz bath’s already prepared which takes the guessing game out of what to use!
Best Advice
- If you are able to, start these as soon as you get home from the hospital.
- Take at least 1 sitz bath for 15-20 minutes a day.
- When looking for a Sitz Bath, make sure it has Epsom Salts and Lavender Oil
- Make it as easy as possible, you do not need to be making batches of something when you are already exhausted!
- Be gentle to your body. It just went through major surgery. Just don’t forget your sitz bath!
