Beauty Tricks to Prepare for Labor
We all want to make sure we look our best when we go into Labor. Imagine all the visitors & pictures.
This will also be the last time for a few months you will be able to break free from your baby!!!
How do you prepare for labor from a beauty perspective?
Knowing that your due date, isn’t your actual due date (surprising huh, here are more SHOCKING pregnancy revelations I had here!! Labor & Delivery for a First Time Mom) you will want to make sure you are ready a week in advance!
When you are packing your hospital bag, you definitely want to make sure you have packed a Month in Advance! I also left by bag in my trunk because I hardly wasn’t anywhere that my car wasn’t! These are my perfect hospital packing tips, EVEN some AWESOME gifts for DAD! <3
Here are the 5 things I would do a week before my due date to BEAUTIFY before I went into labor!
Labor Prep #1 Get a Pedicure
Simple enough right? Be sure you are using a color that you own. It will give you the added benefit of touching it up so it lasts longer once you are home with your baby.
Labor Prep #2 Set a Hair Appointment
Odds are, you probably waited to get your hair done while you were pregnant to save money. It’s extremely difficult to fit in a hair appointment after you have had your baby.
You’ll also have tons of pictures and the last thing you probably want to have is grey hair, roots showing, or fun split ends. Treat yourself and ENJOY the time with your hairdresser!!!
Labor Prep #3 Grooming your lady parts
Obviously this is a personal preference. I can tell you, I had planned to get a Brazilian wax before going into labor. I did not expect to go into labor a week early! I was having contracts in the shower trying to shave.
Don’t forget if you are having a c section if you don’t shave yourself, they will shave for you and its not with an awesome razor!
Labor Prep #4 Shaving Your Legs
This is no fun task. Its also not a fun task once you’ve had your baby. You’ll be struggling to get time to shower (every mom talks about this) let alone the time to shave your legs!
Labor Prep #5 Stocking up on Beauty Products
As I mentioned before, taking the time to shower is very hard once you get home. I would absolutely consider getting some hair clips, dry shampoo, make up remover wipes to help you carry the time.
My best advice for finding more time with your newborn baby can be found in this post Preparing to return home with your newborn baby.
shaving was one thing i really wished I had done! yes, the doctors and midwives have seen it all and don’t care, but if i could go back, i’d have my husband shave for me!
